Taylor Swift, born on December 13, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, is an American country singer and songwriter. Her artistic side stood out early when she started writing poetry, participated in fairs and contests, and even wrote a novel. She began singing country music alongside Kirk Cremer, who noticed her natural talent, and it didn’t take long before her shows were well received and her following grew.
Her country music as she claims was inspired by Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton, together with Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain. Her initial career didn’t take off conventionally after being rejected by both production labels and other country singers. Furthermore, she had to turn down a deal with RCA Records on the grounds that she would not be allowed to record her own music.
When Taylor release her first single “Tim McGraw”, it became an instant success and was on the top for 24 weeks on Top Country music charts, and was sold over 3 million copies and received over 8 million downloads. Furthermore, she made it to the golden ten on MySpace and remains to be the most looked up country artist. Another single “Teardrops on My Guitar” has also become a hit, reaching second spot on country music charts. After winning CMA Horizon Awards, she performed “Our Song”, the performance that lifted the single to the top of the charts.
Her next album “Fearless”, with its lead single “Love Story”, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 Chart and set a record for the largest opening sales week by a female artist and the bestselling country album in the history of paid music downloads. When her new single “White Horse” was released, it didn’t reach top position on the charts until 3 months later. Taylor has also sang Star-Spangled Banner at the World Series and made an appearance on Saturday Night Live, receiving the highest adult rating score since presidential election.
