Eva Longoria, born on March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas, is an American actress and model. She was brought up in a modest environment and also was not considered to be good looking by her siblings and peers. When she applied to for a modeling job, she was declined because of her short height.
Her acting career started shortly after a talent competition in Los Angeles when she landed guest appearances on Beverly Hills, 90210 and General Hospital. Her major breakthrough came with her role on “The Young and the Restless”, a show she worked at for two years. At the same time Spanish edition of People magazine named her one of the most beautiful people at the time.
When Eva was cast for “Desperate Housewives”, starring alongside Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Nicollette Sheridan, the show became an instant hit with the audience, cementing her on top of the A-list and earning her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by a TV Actress. Even though her career is often described as an “overnight success”, she doesn’t agree, saying that she was working towards that point for over ten years. Her first move role came in “The Sentinel” where she appeared together with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland.
Off stage, Longoria is widely viewed as one of the most beautiful Hollywood celebrities and women in general with Maxim listing her as #1 for two years in a row and appearing in the top 10 a year later. She’s also one of the faces of L’Oreal Paris.
